Blog theme

"My name is Matt. I'm a blogger. It has been two weeks since my last post."
Droning voices around a chair circle "Hi Matt."

Ok, generally in recovery groups an addict is trying to kick a bad habit and they take pride in their period of sobriety.

I on the other hand am trying to take up a habit.

Therefore my blogging restraint isn't going to win me any awards. If this were a real 12 step program I would be bounced back down to step one (which I think is making coffee for the group). I'm not even being truthful in calling myself a blogger (isn't "not lieing" one of those steps?).

In an effort to motivate myself to write something, I thought I could use a theme. It is always easier to write when you have a nice clear focus, especially when you are writing for an audiance of possibly no one.

Possible theme ideas:
Reasons God is cool (for the kids)
Christian hair dos
Pandas
Dangerous youth group games that you can probably get away with
A bible study through Revelation (also for the kids)
A bible study through Song of Solomon (for the senior adults)

Ok I don't have any ideas yet. But someday I may. And when that day comes you can count to stand up and say "My name is Matt. I am a blogger."

This is an image test.

This happens to be a road that was missing a center line. In the name of safety, one night we grabbed a couple of buckets of paint and did a Kramer style road painting.
Note the darker section of pavement in the distance, the part with the wobbly multicolored line.

Midwinter resolution #1

This past week was spent at Midwinter- the annual conference for covenant pastors.
Every every pastor leaves with about 100 great ideas on how to improve their ministry. If a pastor is lucky, perhaps 1 of the ideas will be used. I am creating my own luck and locking in my #1 in making a blog.

Perhaps you would take issue with the assertion that a blog really is a "great idea to improve my ministry." But if you are thinking that, perhaps you should ask yourself, "Did I go to midwinter?"

I guessing the answer is no.

Enjoy (as this will possibly be my last post)
